Shakespeare at Stan Hywet: King Lear July 29-31, August 1, 5-8, 12-15
A Shakespeare tragedy, King Lear is considered one of The Bard’s greatest works, as the title character descends into madness after wrongly distributing his estate between his three daughters on the strength of their love for him.

Showtimes All performances begin at 8pm. The front gate opens at 6pm.
Performance Location / Concessions Performances take place outdoors in the Lagoon area of Stan Hywet. Chairs are provided and we encourage you to come early to stroll the landscaped grounds or enjoy a picnic, but please, do not bring in alcohol, as our liquor license does not permit that. You may also buy sandwiches, desserts, coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, beer and wine at the concession near the Lagoon.
Please note that this is an outdoor theater, so dress for the weather.
