Youth Garden Programs
Students explore the extraordinary grounds and historic gardens while learning about landscape design, horticulture, ecology, and history. Led by a Stan Hywet instructor, these programs are designed to enhance in-class learning experiences:
Mystery Tree Challenge is an introduction to tree identification for grades 4-8.
It's All in Your Hands applies mathematical skills to learning about trees for grades 3-7.
Geometry Lies Everywhere teaches degree measurement by studying symmetrical and asymmetrical designs on the estate for grades 4-7.
How They Measure Up uses outdoor landmarks to study parallel and intersecting lines and calculate area, perimeter, length, and width for grades 3-7.
