An endowment is a permanent asset that is invested to provide an income stream for the museum and gardens on an annual basis.

This important income allows the doors to remain open, the lights on and the staff and volunteers in place as they plant and maintain the historic gardens; clean and maintain the Manor House and other historic buildings and collections; present unique seasonal exhibits, public events, educational programs and special tours, all of which have an important role in telling the Seiberlings' stories and sharing the legacy to enrich lives.

Currently, the Stan Hywet Endowment Fund generates a five percent distribution based on a three-year rolling average. This investment is combined with contributions received through the Annual Fund, planned gifts and earned income channels including ticket and tour sales, rentals, retail sales from the museum store and café, membership fees and ARRC – all designed to guide us toward self-sustainability.

When you make a gift to the Stan Hywet Endowment Fund, you are establishing a permanent legacy of your own that will continue to support the Stan Hywet Estate beyond your lifetime.
