• restoration of two (2) 100,000 gallon cisterns  that are located under the Japanese Garden
• introduction of a geothermal heating and cooling system for the Manor Auditorium
• restoration of eight (8) signature gardens designed by noted landscape architect Warren H. Manning, including the Great Garden, Breakfast Room Garden, Japanese Garden and London Plane Tree Allée
• restoration of the West Terrace and West Terrace Overlook
• most of the copper gutters and downspouts on the Carriage House, the Gate Lodge, the Manor House, and the Gardener’s Cottage are being replaced (recreated in copper) in 2011.

Endowment
Building an endowment is critical to help secure the long-term financial stability of Stan Hywet and ensure its continued programmatic relevance. The endowment is a permanent asset that is invested to provide an income stream for the museum and gardens on an annual basis. It is the bedrock of the institution’s fiscal health.

When you make an endowment gift to Stan Hywet, you are sharing your legacy to enrich lives well into the future.
