Celebrating the Art of Gertrude Penfield Seiberling
Lasting Impressions celebrates Gertrude Seiberling's passion for painting, which she rediscovered at age 64, and passionately pursued for the next 16 years. Her paintings will be on display in the Manor House. Many are owned by Stan Hywet; others are on loan from Seiberling family members. Many have never before been publicly displayed.
Gertrude's art is also the inspiration for Fused, a summer garden gallery exhibited throughout the estate. Local artists have been commissioned to create one-of-a-kind sculptures to complement the display in the Manor House. The Art of Gertrude Seiberling, the fifth book in a series on the estate, will be released to coincide with the exhibit.
Throughout the season, art will play a prominent role. The annual Father’s Day Car Show will incorporate a collection of artistically decorated cars and concept cars of the future, the annual Midsummer Night’s Gala will be presented as A Chef’s Canvas, and Deck the Hall will feature the stylized artistic talents represented in a Classic Comic Hero Christmas.
