The Senior Accountant is a full time employee who assists in the accounting/bookkeeping for all financial assets and liabilities for Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and associated subsidiary companies. Qualified candidate will be accurate with numbers, detail oriented, able to record transactions with speed and efficiency, and have the ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers. Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting , business or finance and minimum 3-5 years of experience required. CPA preferred.
The Senior Horticulturalist is a full-time employee who maintains the highest professional standards of landscape appearance through plant health care and landscape maintenance in assigned public garden areas. Leads members of the team, including staff and volunteers, following landscape maintenance practices in keeping with historic garden preservation, focusing on care of woody plants and trees.
Provides support during public events, set-up and tear-down. Some non-traditional hours required.
Qualified candidate will have 4 or more years documented experience in agriculture, horticulture, arboriculture or landscape industry with extensive knowledge of a variety of plant material and landscape maintenance practices. Knowledge of pruning woody plant material, fertilization, pest control and disease control is necessary and candidate must have an Ohio Certified Pesticide Applicator’s License. Technical school diploma or Associate of Science degree in botany, biology, horticulture or agronomy is recommended. Bachelor of Science degree in botany, biology, horticulture, arboriculture or agronomy is desirable. Certified ISA Arborist preferred.
The Horticulturalist is full time employee and is responsible for the care of specific garden areas following landscape maintenance practices in keeping with historic garden preservation and the daily tasks involved with operations. The Horticulturalist may be asked to work with and direct the activities of garden volunteers.
Provides support during public events, set-up and tear-down.Some nontraditional hours required.
Qualified candidate will have knowledge of a variety of plant material and landscape maintenance practices. Strong interest in landscape/horticulture and at least two year’s documented work experience in the agriculture, horticulture or landscape industry is a plus.Associate of Science degree in botany, biology, horticulture or agronomy is desirable. Have or be able to obtain a Pesticide Applicator’s License through the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

2018 PART-TIME SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY
April – December / Weekends Required
The Hospitality Coordinator is a seasonal, part-time employee responsible for supervising staff in providing a superior level of customer services. This position oversees the day-to-day front-line activity in greeting, admissions and other guest areas, coordinates and provides assistance with groups, events or special needs, leads opening and closing procedures, and maintains a clean, safe, enjoyable and helpful atmosphere for guests, volunteers and staff.
Weekend availability is a must, some holidays required.
Qualified candidate must have 1-2 years prior supervisory experience, strong customer service skills, intermediate computer skills with ability to learn proprietary ticketing software. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license. A minimum of a High School diploma, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
Selected trainee will receive training for 90 days at an introductory wage. Upon successful completion, trainee will be confirmed in role or may elect to continue employment as Guest Service Staff.
