2021 Operating Hours and Social Distancing Guidelines

  • Tuesday - Sunday, 10 am - 4:30 pm.  Closed to the public on Mondays.
  • Self-guided tours only of the Manor House. 
  • Masks/facial covering for guests, staff, volunteers and vendors who are vaccinated are no longer required in buildings or on the grounds.
  • Take lots of photos, but please no camera equipment beyond your phone or handheld camera. No tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, drones, etc.

Self-Guided Manor House Tour

  • Please note that this is the only Manor House tour currently being offered.

Guest will experience Stan Hywet Hall at their own pace and safely distance from other guests. In addition to this tour, admission includes a helpful visitors guide, and self-guided tours of the gardens and Gate Lodge.

Outdoor History Tour (NEW!)
May 4 - October 15 at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM 

A companion to the Nooks & Crannies tour, the Outdoor History Tour highlights the domestic staff who lived and operated the estate, the builders of Stan Hywet Hall, state-of-the-art exterior technology during that time period, service buildings, and the Seiberling farms. A Self-guided Manor House Tour is included in this package. 

  • The Outdoor History Tour lasts approximately 1¼ hours.
  • Tour is rain or shine and will only be canceled due to severe weather.
  • This tour includes extensive walking (about 1.5 miles) over uneven walkways, stone steps and some slick spots. Comfortable walking shoes are advised.

Guided Garden Tour
May 4 -October 15 at 11 AM and 2 PM

The Guided Garden Tour takes guests around the estate and focuses on how the Seiberlings worked closely with their landscape architect on the overall design of the property. Highlights of the garden tour include the West Terrace & Overlook, English Garden, and the newly restored Lagoon. Admission also includes a self-guided Manor House tour, Gate Lodge and Corbin Conservatory. Please note that this is NOT a plant identification tour.

  • The Guided Garden Tour lasts approximately 1¼ hours.

Gardens, Gate Lodge & Corbin Conservatory
Enjoy Stan Hywet's historic gardens and grounds at your own pace on this self-guided grounds tour. Admission also includes the Corbin Conservatory, and the Gate Lodge, featuring the new exhibit Henrietta Seiberling: A Spark for a Movement.

Gate Lodge Self-Guided Tour

The new Gate Lodge exhibit, Henrietta Seiberling: A Spark for a Movement, is an immersive experience taking guests back to 1935 with the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Gate Lodge.

  • Museums For All Program: Stan Hywet participates in the Museums for All program. Admission is $3 for any guest (for up to four guests, 18 & over) who presents the U.S. government-issued electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card upon arrival. Youth and children accompanying the EBT card-holder are free.
  • Stan Hywet is CLOSED Jan.- March. Our season is normally April-December. 
  • CLOSED on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, & New Year's Day.

Guided Manor House Tour
[Currently not available] Experience the Manor House through the eyes of a trained tour guide and learn more about what life was like at the estate when the Seiberling family lived here. Tour highlights include entertainment spaces such as the Music Room and Great Hall, and family recreation areas including the Plunge (indoor swimming pool). Admission also includes a self-guided garden tour, Gate Lodge and Corbin Conservatory.

Offered on the hour from 11 am - 4pm, The Guided Manor House Tour lasts approximately 1¼ hours.

Nooks & Crannies Tour
[Currently not available] Ever wonder what it took to manage an estate like Stan Hywet Hall? Then the Nooks & Crannies Tour is for you! Take this behind-the-scenes tour of the Manor House to learn more about the domestic staff who worked and lived at the estate. Admission also includes a self-guided Manor House Tour, self-guided garden tour, Gate Lodge and Corbin Conservatory. Offered at 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 2:30 pm, the Nooks & Crannies Tour lasts approximately 1½ to 2 hours. 

NOTE: this tour includes several flights of stairs and narrow passageways and is not recommended for guests who are unable to stand or walk for long distances.

Grand Estate Tour

[Currently not available] Get the best of both worlds! The Grand Estate Tour includes a guided Manor House and guided tour of the gardens, with a focus on significant landscape elements that make the property unique. Admission also includes the Gate Lodge and Corbin Conservatory.  Please note that this is not a plant-identification tour. Offered at 11:30am from May-October, this tour lasts approximately 2½ hours and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
