special Volunteer opportunity: Ohio Mart 2025
Ohio Mart is Stan Hywet's annual artisan craft showcase presented by the Auxiliary Board of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. This popular, 4-day event October 2 - 5 features over 140 artisans, food vendors, Stan Hywet's famous gingerbread cookies, a Stitchery Showcase, and self-guided tours of the Manor House and grounds. Unique crafts and knit items, dried flower arrangements, vintage pieces and whimsical decor, and needlework supplies are also available for sale, all which have been created or donated by Stan Hywet volunteers. Volunteers are key contributors in the organizing of Ohio Mart and in the day-to-day operations. They assist in many roles including:
- greeting and directing guests and vendors in the parking areas
- filling beverage and food orders
- assisting guests with purchases and processing sales (using iPads and handheld scanners)
- booth sitting and providing artisans a brief break
- set-up before the event and tear down after
- and more!
There are opportunities to volunteer in the mornings as well as afternoons on all 4 days of Ohio Mart, and shift commitments are between 3 and 5 hours. Ohio Mart volunteers are able to check out the artisans and vendors and make purchases if they wish before or after their shift(s). No previous experience is needed for most of the opportunities as training will be provided before the event and/or upon arrival.
