Butterflies of North America

Whether they are assisting young guests with feeding butterflies or providing interpretative education on the lifestyle of a caterpillar, volunteers involved in the Butterflies of North America exhibit have the opportunity to switch on a "light bulb" moment for guests of all ages about the science behind these beautiful pollinators.  Volunteers come with a range of knowledge from a general love of nature and interest in interpreting to previous educators and even Master Gardeners. They work side by side with Stan Hywet's Education Department to provide interactive instruction on butterflies and other pollinators, including how to make one's own backyard or garden an inviting space for these insects to gather.

Butterflies return in June, 2018.  This calendar now includes open shifts from mid-June - September. To add or change a shift, please contact the Education Coordinator.
